A brother, son and father to many (Abdul Rahman Ramadhan), the soundman we fondly call “Hilu’ will be the proud recipient of the 2016 Association of International Broadcasters (AIB) Founders award on November 2nd 2016 in London.
This is in recognition of his tremendous contribution to the international media industry in the domain of sound engineering. He has, for the last decade and a half, travelled widely to record the sounds cries, war, famine and genocide that have added grit to the tales of the most historic events in the world amongst them the 1992 Ethiopia famine with the late Mohamed Amin.
The Haiba Foundation joins his family, the global media fraternity and the entire Nubian Umma in celebrating this achievement.
May Allah continue blessing the work of his hands.
